Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you for checking out Buuck! It's a self-hostable booking platform with a one-time payment because why would anyone want to rent software critical to their business?
If you run a local business like a barber shop, a restaurant, a fitness studio, or a guesthouse, you almost certainly need a way for customers to book time with you online. Usually, that means signing up for a monthly subscription that charges you per staff member, per location, or even takes a cut of every booking. Month after month, those bills add up.
Buuck was built to offer a calmer, simpler alternative: booking software you buy once and own forever.
You can run it on your own server with a single command and keep all of your customer data in your own hands. If you don't want to touch servers at all, a managed option is also available where the hosting and upkeep is handled for you.
What Buuck does
Buuck was designed around the real schedules of everyday businesses:
Time-slot & overnight bookings: Works for 30-minute haircuts, 2-hour dinner reservations, group fitness classes, or multi-day cabin and hotel stays.
Staff, room, and equipment scheduling: Assign bookings to specific team members, rooms, tables, or gear, with automatic conflict checking so nobody gets double-booked.
Multi-business support: Run two shops, three studios, or even more businesses from a single dashboard.
Frictionless customer booking page: A clean, mobile-friendly page on your own domain where customers can pick a time and book without having to create an account or download an app.
Custom branding (Pro feature): Make the booking page look and feel like your business.
How it's built
Buuck was designed to feel fast for customers, reliable for business owners, and as easy as possible to self-host. Here is what's under the hood:
SvelteKit, Tailwind: Used for the customer booking portal and the admin dashboard. It keeps the interface fast, clean, and easy to use on both phones and desktops.
Bun, Hono, oRPC: Run the backend server and API. This handles the scheduling math, recurring availability rules, and communication between the dashboard and booking page with end-to-end type safety.
PostgreSQL, Drizzle: Stores your bookings, venues, and customer details safely, using database-level security to keep organisation data strictly separated.
Valkey: Acts as a fast memory cache so checking available time slots feels instant, even on busy days.
Better-Auth: Manages secure logins and permissions for business owners and their team members.
Docker, Caddy, and the Buuck CLI: Packages the whole platform together with automatic HTTPS certificates, so installing or updating Buuck on any basic VPS takes just one command.
